About radio, I started DX'ing on 1994 with my best friends Lionel (ex-14RC276), 1AR4182 was my first call sign, this group was joined in 1994 and 14RC574 in 1995. We run our first DX activation outside France on 1998 as 15RC/0. Before 2000 I was only active with my mobile station, on Forez mountains (800 or 1300 ms height) with Lionel (ex-14RC276) & good friend Thierry 14AT020 (ex-633). Very often we met local friends on frequency or local meetings : 14AT043 Alain, 14AT286 Jean, 14DX461 Ludo, 14FRI001 Thierry, 14SD477 Antoine, 14SD642 Jean François...
After using several call signs (BRC574, RC574, DR042) I joined SD group on 1999 as 14SD574 & became SD Rhône Alpes & Auvergne coordinator on 2001. My good friends Antoine (14SD477) & Jean François (14SD642) joined the group, then Gérard (14SD130), Solange (14SD261)... we created together a good team & organize several meetings. On 2001 I also joined SD web team by the way of Gerard (ex-30SD002) & Javier (ex-30SD001).
I became 14SD057 on 2002 and keep this call sign. On 2004 I joined SD France HQ & World SD HQ by the way of my good friend 14SD001 Fred who asked me help for the group. Due to problems with my job (very busy & not enough free time for the group) I had to resigned from SD France HQ on 2006. On 2004, after Salou meeting (closed to Barcelona / Spain) we created "SD Cerveza Team" with SD friends because we had good fun here lol. The team is composed by 14SD031 Pierre François, 14SD051 Chris, 14SD557 Richard, 14SD692 Jeff & me 14SD057 Greg. Then several SD friends from Spain joined the team, lol.
Concerning DX Activations, I run & participated to several DX since 1994 outside France : 15RC/0, 107DR0, 107/14SD574, 167SD/EU013, 169SD/EU114, 40/14SD057, 16SD/WM2004, 19SD/WM2005, 54/14SD057, also 14SD/D42, 14SD/TDF... Since 1994, I have worked more than 270 DXCC world wide, the most important for me is not the importance of the DXCC but the quality of the contact. I like also radio DX'ing because on this way of communication we don't meet any kind of discrimination, racism or intolerance between people.
My Working Conditions
Since 1994, I used several transceivers, I started with Superstar 3900 HP and Santiago 1200 antenna, very simple mobile working conditions, but it works well. Then I got a Ranger 2950 & a Ranger 2970, about antennas, I bought an Antron 99 & a SY3, still be active as mobile station. Then I got the opportunity to put an antenna on the roof of my building (Antron 99) & bought an Icom IC-745. Then I changed also the mobile working conditions and bought a Yaesu FT-840 & 2 antennas HB9CV & Bamby Quad. On may 2011 I added my HB9CV on the roof of the building, I also bought a new transceiver an Icom IC 718.
